You should contact us if:

  • Someone in your life—whether a partner, ex-partner, family member, or carer—is making you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or afraid.
  • You’ve experienced family violence, including controlling behaviors like being monitored, restricted on where you go, who you see, or how you spend your money.
  • As a child or young person, you feel you’re not receiving the care and attention you need from your parent(s) or carer.

Family violence can take many forms. It might not always look the way you expect. It includes:

  • Physical
  • Sexual
  • Emotional
  • Psychological
  • Cultural
  • Spiritual
  • Financial abuse

How Can Code Purple Help?

If you’re feeling unsafe or worried about your situation, reaching out to Code Purple is a powerful first step. Once you contact us, we will:

  • Listen: We’re here to listen to your concerns and understand what you’re going through.
  • Support: We’ll help with any immediate safety needs, from creating a safety plan to securing safe housing.
  • Connect: We’ll work with you to identify what support you need and help you access resources like financial assistance, housing services, and more.
  • Provide Resources: We can help with funding for basic living expenses and other costs.

Family Violence Support:

If you’re experiencing family violence, we can help with:

  • Safety planning: We'll work with you to keep you and your family safe.
  • Housing and financial support: We can assist with relocating, accessing housing services, and financial help, including the Escaping Violence Payment scheme.
  • Home security: We can arrange tech sweeps and small-scale home security measures, such as lock changes or window repairs.
  • Legal and counselling referrals: We can connect you to legal, financial, and counselling services, as well as case management support.
  • Programs for people using violence: We offer referrals to programs like the Men’s Behaviour Change Program, case management, and parenting support to help those using violence.

Culturally Inclusive Support:

We understand that cultural and religious preferences are deeply important. At Code Purple, we honor your choice to request a male or female worker and respect your cultural or religious preferences. If you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, you can receive support from a worker employed by an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation (ACCO) or be referred to an Aboriginal Service. We partner with local Aboriginal communities to support your self-determination and choices.
